Seismic Reflection Method

Parallel Geoscience Corporation has been providing state-of-the-art seismic software solutions since 1988. Interpex has been a sales agent of Parallel Geoscience Corporation since 1999.

Program Features

Fast - Processing systems require quick turn-around to keep pace with modern acquisition and decision making time lines. SPW meets or exceeds the performance of many more expensive workstation based products on the market today. SPW processing code is optimized to take advantage of the latest generations of personal computer microprocessors. In addition, SPW is now multi-threaded with the built in capability to automatically utilize multiple processors. With SPW, you can process a small to medium sized 3-D survey in a few days or a medium sized 2-D line in under an hour.

Flexible - SPW is available in several configurations. SPW consists of multiple components on several popular personal computer operating systems. SPW allows you to design your own hardware system to best suit your needs and budget using off-the-shelf, inexpensive PC components.

Friendly - SPW is extremely easy to use. The SPW flowchart style interface allows you to be more productive in your processing. You can start using SPW for production work after only a few hours of training. SPW's flowchart graphical user interface allows you to easily build complex processing sequences. Flowcharts are designed using a palette of processing steps and two simple tools for selecting and linking flow items. The entire system uses a logical point and click interface familiar to all PC users. SPW's flowchart reduces seismic processing to it's simplest form, transforming complex tasks into simple, understandable flowcharts.

Functional - SPW incorporates a complete library of standard 2-D and 3-D processing algorithms. SPW stands proven by years of day-to-day use on field crews and in processing centers around the world.

(SPW)
ENGINEERING PACKAGE

SPW Engineering system is the complete SPW library of tools and steps in a smaller package. SPW Engineering is capable of handling up to 150 channels per record with a maximum of 100,000 traces per dataset.

SPW Engineering includes the complete 2-D and 3-D processing suite. SPW offers an extensive processing library of algorithms backed by many years of use in the processing of high resolution seismic.

The SPW Engineering system is a Windows 2000, XP, Linux and Macintosh processing system that includes the following components:

FlowChart - An interactive processing flow builder with built in support for spreadsheet display and editing of auxiliary data such as geometry, velocity picks, FK filters, mutes.

Executor - A multi-threaded, multi-CPU program for executing the flows built in the FlowChart module.

SeisViewer - A full featured, user definable seismic display and montage product. Plots using standard PC print/plot drivers avoiding expensive Unix solutions.

Tape Utility - A high performance tape analysis, copy, and reformat utility program. Provides tools for decoding data formats and handling problem tapes.

FlowChart

  • Interactive Graphic User Interface
  • Build and Edit Processing Flows
  • Parameter Entry Dialogs
  • Spreadsheet Data Interface
  • Client for Executor Server

The SPW Flowchart allows you to graphically build your processing streams. All of the flowchart steps are maintained in a floating list. Building a flow is a simple process of dragging and dropping the steps onto a flowchart window.

The linking tool lets you define the data links between processes by drawing the connection. To enter the parameters for a processing step, you double click with the left mouse button.

To open a spreadsheet of the seismic data headers or any of the auxiliary data files, you double click on the data step with the right mouse button. The spreadsheet window allows full editing and display of all of the data types. The auxiliary data types can also be customized by modifying a few parameters in the data step dialog.

Executor

  • Seismic Execution Server
  • Client-Server model
  • Multi-CPU Enabled
  • Designed for Expansion

The SPW Executor is a background process with a simple console window interface. Despite the simple appearance of the interface, this is the heart of the SPW system.

The Executor runs like a daemon process. When it sees a compiled flow output by the Flowchart in the local directory, the Executor reads the flow and automatically saturates all of the CPU's on the system with threads to process the data.

The Executor can run on the same system as the Flowchart and the other SPW components or it can run on a high end server system. For large processing jobs, a 2 or 4 CPU Windows NT server system is highly recommended. Each of the processing steps for the Executor is a separate DLL which enables simple updates and expansion of the processing library. One Executor running on a server system can service multiple users on inexpensive desktop PCs.

SeisViewer

Seismic Data Display

Unlimited Annotation

Montage Capabilities

Plotting & BMP file Export

Interactive Picking & Editing

Drawing Tools

Does your current seismic montage tool allow you to access the actual seismic data and change the AGC?

SeisViewer Will!!!

Save Time - Building on over ten years of experience working with interactive processing, Parallel Geoscience Corporation designed the SeisViewer to meet the demanding display and plotting needs of interpreters and processors. Designed from the beginning to allow you total control in the layout of your final display, SeisViewer also allows you to use default templates for rapid construction of normal seismic presentations. The point and click user interface allows you to rapidly build complex seismic displays on your desktop or laptop personal computer. Output can be directed to any printing or plotting device which uses a standard PC system print driver as well as to BMP files. Since SeisViewer works off the actual seismic data, not a bitmap, you can quickly and easily modify your display.

Save Money - With SeisViewer you can do your display, plotting and montage work on inexpensive PC's. Since you can output directly to any printing or plotting device which uses a standard PC system print driver, there is no need for expensive Unix plot drivers. Unix display and plotting problems are now history. You can also output standard bitmap image files (BMP format) at high resolutions for importing into drafting and drawing programs. Don't try this with your CGM+ files, only expensive seismic specific programs can handle this special format. Use SeisViewer and take advantage of the multitude of inexpensive and extremely powerful PC drafting and drawing programs.

Interactive Tape Control

Interactive Tape Analysis

Analysis - Unknown or problem tapes can be quickly and easily analyzed. Data can be displayed in ASCII, EBCDIC, Integer, Floating Point, or hex formats for finding and resolving problems. Decoded SEG formats may be displayed as well.

Copy - Powerful operations such as tape-to-tape copies, tape-to-disk-to-tape copies, and simultaneous multiple tape outputs can be performed with point-and-click ease. These advanced features save time, minimize wear and tear on media, and prolong equipment life. Copies may be verified on a bit by bit basis to ensure absolute accuracy. A console monitor reports progress and errors. You can output a listing file showing contents and any problems encountered, which may be delivered to your customer.

Control - With the interactive tape positioning capability, you can skip over bad records or files. You always know the current position on the tape and can skip tape files and blocks with a single click of the mouse.

Reformat - You can read all standard SEG formats and even perform VibroSeis correlation as part of a reformat or demultiplex. The data reformatting easily handles most nonstandard seismic tape formats using the customization features. You can simply subset a 3-D dataset by range limiting your output. The solution to most nonstandard tape formats is but a few simple mouse clicks away.
